Build-A-Bear! (or frog)

With everything going on with Malachi for the past few months, it was nice to be able to do something special with Emerson. We received a gift card to take her to build-a-bear and on Saturday we got the chance to use it. It was a good afternoon, HOWEVER, if we were to do something like this again, we will do it AFTER naptime and not on the weekend. BUT, our time is certainly limited these days, so Saturday was the day, and we survived! Here's a glimpse...

The WALL of different animals to choose:

Of all these creatures, she picked the frog! That's right, the frog...she's the coolest.

Only a minor temper tantrum. She ended up falling down and getting hurt, but she knew she was not acting appropriately, so she didn't cry (if she's being disobedient and ends up getting hurt, she tends to keep it to herself.. she knows).

Pick a heart to go in your buddy.

Then the stuffing.

Then the fluffing.

After the fluffing comes the dressing. We had these cute froggy PJs picked out and we had some extra money left on the gift card, so we got a little polar bear too. We then went to create the birth certificate. Certificate is made and we get in line to check out. I put the jammies on Lily so Emma can get the whole picture. Emma was NOT thrilled. She replied, "No, I want Lily nakey." Sweet. Really, Emma? There are ALL these outfits to choose from and you want nakey. I guess that sounds about right! Now we needed to find something else to finish off the gift card. SHOES! Emma loves shoes. So she found these ruffly pink shoes. That should be about perfect. We had $30 to spend and we rang up Lily and the polar bear for $29.96! How crazy is that. To top it off, I looked in the back seat on the way back to the hospital and saw this. PRECIOUS!!

  2. Build a bear is fun but CRAZY pricey. Glad you were able to do something nice for her tho also glad she knew when she was having a melt down and did not cry. Its amazing no matter what age the older ones do grow up faster then they need to when their little brother or sister is in the hospital so much.
Make as many memories you can with Emma, Bailey was 2 when Eva was born my mind was moosh and I do not remember much I did with him after she was born and now he is about to be 7. Time goes way to fast!!
    Hugs,
    Crystal and Eva
