big day!

Today was a BIG day in the Sharbaugh household. For one, Malachi has been nominated for this month on a site called Baby Be Blessed. Click HERE to access that page. On an equally if not more exciting note, guess who got to meet Baby Chi today!!!

We first picked up some taco bell on the way to the hospital to meet up with daddy who had been at the hospital already that morning.

All in all, Malachi is still slowly improving. His heart rate is still very irregular, but beating at acceptable rates. He is on quite a bit of sedation still to keep him "comfortable" post-op, so there really isn't much for John and I to do when we are there visiting. At least when he's in the NICU we can help with baths, diapers, temperature checks, that sort of thing. But he needs to get better, so PICU it is for now. He has been weaned down on his nitric to 6!!! This is big stuff. Before surgery, we couldn't get him much lower than 18 without a major desat epsiode. He had a problem with low blood pressures earlier today, but that has since resolved. When I called to check on him just now, they were just finishing retaping his ET tube, so no more nasty green goober nonsense all over his tape!

And last, but not least, a quick video of today. My favorite part is like the last 5 seconds, but I cut it off a little early... you'll get the idea.

  2. That is awesome! I am so glad she got to come up there and meet him. I hope that helped some with feeling more like 1 family instead of 2! Praying for you all!
