surgery update 12:00
The surgeon just came out to talk to me. During the procedure, Malachi's blood pressure dropped down into the low 40s. They thoroughly examined the gastrostomy procedure inside and out and couldn't find anything that appeared wrong from the standpoint of that procedure. There was some bleeding, but nothing more than what usually occurs with that type of procedure. Basically, Dr. Rescorla didn't want to push Malachi, as he is a fragile little boy. For that I am thankful. So, instead of having both procedures done today, we just had the G-tube placed today and then tomorrow at about 11:00 they will move forward with the trach as long as Malachi proves to be stable through today and the night. Bummer.

Well at least they made a good decision instead of pushing him too much! Praying that he makes a quick recovery and smooth transition.
