12/02/2009 update

Yesterday was a pretty good day for Malachi. He had a couple episodes where his heart rate got to be really low, and when his heart rate drops so does his oxygen saturation. He is able to kind of work himself out of these episodes for the most part. The cardiology team evaluated him bedside and because his heart rate tends to stay in sinus rhythm, they are not TOO worried about it. They lowered some of his atenolol hoping that this will keep his heart rate up, but it's a fine line because they dont' want it to get TOO high either. They are still not worried about it negatively affecting him during surgery.

Right now we are still waiting for surgery on Friday (hopefully we'll have more of a time frame for that later). A few other bigger prayer requests would be that John and I can stay healthy. I'm not sure if I have something coming on now or not, but it needs to go away! ;) Also, we are still waiting to hear back from genetics regarding their inability to grow Chi's cells. Just pray that they will find a reason for this, instead of just pushing it aside as a "rare phenomenon" as they've said before.

Thank you again for your prayers!
